Save Earth!!!

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Though most of us might have came across few of these things, still I would like to share these suggesstion with you guys as I think probably this is the most precise list of steps I’ve received so far ; to save earth & save our environment for better life.

1. There is a cute small round press button at the bottom right corner of almost all monitors: Please make use of this, always switch off monitors when you are out of your desk, may be for lunch or tea. Yes it make difference.

2. Stop printing out Harry Porter, Jeffrey Archer and other e-books. This is a classic example of paper wastage. This sounds crazy to me atleast. Come on man, its not needed at all.

3. If you have forgotten to give double-side prints, make sure you make use of the empty sides as scribbling pads or for your kids’ imposition.

4. Take two minutes from your busy schedule before hurrying back home to shut down the computer.

5. All of us are big time Googlers. Have you heard of the Blackle search engine? Blackle (Google powered) is a search engine designed all in Rich Black so that your system consumes less power. So change your homepage.

6. Plastic bags these days indeed come in bright and flamboyant colours and tempt us to take them home with us. But the saying, “Appearances are deceptive” holds true for these plastic things too. Next time, hold back or go prepared to counter temptation with a cloth bag.

7. Try to plant atleast few plants around our houses, I don’t think those are really unaffordable. Roses saplings hardly cost 10-20 Rs. each.

8. Try to segregate the different kinds of waste into Bio-Degradable (Fruit or vegetable waste) , Recyclable (waste Paper, paper products) and Electronics (Floppy disks, CD-ROMS ). Once you have segregated your thrash, look for specialized trash cans to throw them away.

9. Try to minimize the use of horns. Honking drastically increased and this adds to the noise pollution and does not provide a conducive environment to live in.

10. Use rechargeable batteries though it’s an expensive product, it’s one-time purchase. Recharge when required. (Same applies to cell-phones, MP3s, iPods and Laptops)

11. Remember to close water taps before preening in front of the mirror. Of course you are beautiful, but Water is a precious resource!

12. Let’s not just wake up and walk out of finished meetings and conferences with a sigh of relief, let us remember to turn off the lights and projectors too.

13. Take few minutes to learn about topics like ‘Global Warming‘ , ‘Air/Noise/Land/Water Pollution ‘ etc apart from constant surfing of News, Latest Gadgets, Movies and Music.

Is kasab really a minor???

Since past few days I’ve been seeing these news flashing frequently something like Kasab claimed to be minor by his lawyer, he wasn’t an adult at the time of attack & so he should be tried under the provision of separate section for minors & blah blah blah!!! I’m seriously surprised how someone can even get an idea something like this to save his client?

I mean when everybody knows what he did last November, he put whole Mumbai on the toes almost for more than 5 days,he destroyed several innocent families & most importantly he, himself confessed that he has killed Mumbai’s top cops, still you are asking for more & more evidences? What even if he is minor? Look at what damage he has already done? In fact an adult can’t even dare to think about whatever crime kasab has committed. So what’s this minor claim is for?

Tell me one thing if suppose a 15-year old enters your house WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION & start annoying/disturbing/attacking you, will you ask & wait for any evidence? or you immediately shout at him?

I’m wondering why this case is taking so much of time when so many people have seen on TV footage what has happened. All those terrorists/anti-social elements who are following this Kasab’s trial case on TV must be  saying “see even if you run around the roads of Mumbai & shoot innocent people for no reason, you won’t be punished immediately”

P.S. It seems now terrorist camps will encourage minors to enter this field & hire minors only.

Delhi Agra trip

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Last month I went to Delhi, probably February is the best time to meet this place as the weather is not so hot not so cold. But for me the reason was different. Actually, this year we decided to celebrate my Dad’s birthday in Delhi. So with my whole family I went there. I landed early morning in Delhi. It was a nice bright morning with slightly colder than Mumbai. we visited quite a few places in Delhi, most of them are old monuments including Qutub Minar,Lotus temple & also we saw India gate, Parliment,President’s house. Though it wasn’t my first time to visit these places, I really enjoyed this time ; especially Qutub Minar visit. Honestly telling you though I’ve been to this place earlier as well, I don’t know why but this time I had fun & captured several photos. Also I found Birla temple a very calm & nice place to visit. Actually I went to this temple for the first time.

On the very next day I went to Agra. Wow!!! Practically this was my third attempt to see Taj Mahal as last 2 attempts, I could not see Taj. But finally this time I could make it. Whole day I spent there. Apart from Taj, I managed to visit Agra fort which is hardly at walking distance. Frankly speaking this Fort is being overlooked as most of the tourists come here to see Taj. Obviously Taj is very nice place but I feel Agra fort is a very nice old days building worth seeing.
Take my word, go visit this place you are surely going to like this and fortunately its properly maintained by Indian government.

Anyways, so in short I really had nice time in this trip with my Mom-Dad!!! :-)

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

Saturday, February 14th, 2009

Wish You all a very Happy Valentines day!!!

This year I heard that some political parties are going to support, Oh sorry I mean going to protect couples & encourage love birds for celebrating valentines day!!! I was just wondering why do they need support & protection from anyone? I mean if someone is just roming around with his/her friend, come on its not a crime… Ok fine, I belive & even I dont feel its correct to display love & affection in public places. Probably this is what these people are talking about. But definitely its not the case always then why to bother those people who are happy with their own lives? Why to protest against those who are celebrating valentines day? Atleast if they are not disturbing or harming anyone else or not portraying anything obscene in public places . Anyways this is not what I want to talk about or else some people might beat me ;-)

Anyways I’m not here to support here any of the either party so leaving behind these some controversial issues let’s get back to the Valentine’s day!!! So just few days back I was searching the logic behind celebrating about valentines day. I found that this day is celebrated after saint Valentine & people express their love to closed ones by wishing them, passing greetings & chocolates. Also all of you must be knowing that this day is not only for couples but it can be for friends as well. I personally believe in love & relationships.  I respect those who are in a relation but provided only if its a genuine relationship. When I said “I respect those who are in a relation…” I do not only mean couples but friends also. And of course I admire those who are in serious committments. Its really a big thing.

Anyways, so all my readers a very very Happy Valentine’s day again!!!
